Simpson Strong-Tie HDUE13 HDUE 23-1/16

The Simpson Strong-Tie HDUE holdown delivers exceptional strength and reliability for securing shearwalls, braced wall panels and other lateral-force-resisting applications in wood construction. It features a predeflected seat that eliminates deflection under load, an overlapping back plate for increased strength and optimized screw patterns to prevent splitting, ensuring superior performance. Installation is fast and efficient with Simpson Strong-Tie Strong‑Drive SDS Heavy‑Duty Connector screws, making it a dependable choice for modern residential construction. Engineered for higher load capacity, our new patent-pending HDUE holdown is ideal for meeting the higher design demands of today’s residential wood structures, such as three-story homes with more windows and reduced area for shearwalls. The HDUE provides exceptional overturning resistance for shearwalls, braced wall panels and other lateral force-resisting applications in wood construction. Available in six sizes to meet a wide range of load requirements, this item is 23-1/16 inches. The HDUE has an extruded seat and overlapping back plate for added strength. Tested per ICC-ES AC155, higher capacity models uniquely combine fasteners in both shear and tension, while reducing the number of screws required. Plus, teardrop-shaped holes allow greater and more even distribution of load. The HDUE is fast and easy to install using Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws - included - which reduce fastener slip and allow wood posts to maintain a greater net section than bolts.

• 12 GAUGE STEEL HOLDOWN: The 23-1/16 inch StrongTie HDUE13 Predeflected Holdowns in this Carton of 4 install with included Strong-Tie SDS Connector Screws. Made of solid 12 gauge steel, each holdown is Hot-Dip Galvanized for corrosion resistance.
• ANGLED FASTENING EFFICIENCY: Angled fastening tabs help drive the fastener at a 45 angle, and offset holes on the second back plate block the fastener from being driven straight. Angled fastening engages screws in tension for higher load capacity, reducing the number of screws required.
• KEY FEATURES: Predeflected seat eliminates deflection under load. Optimized screw patterns reduce splitting at the end of the post and maximize individual fastener capacity, plus, teardrop-shaped holes allow higher and more even distribution of load.
• DESIGNED FOR EXTRA STRENGTH: Overlapping back plate increases fastener strength and shear values, helping prevent post splitting, while the holdown's extruded seat adds a greater cross-sectional steel section for added strength.
• STRONG-TIE ENGINEERED: Designed and built for higher load capacity, our new patent-pending HDUE holdown is ideal for meeting the higher design demands of todays residential wood structures, such as three-story homes with more windows and reduced area for shearwalls.
